Hope you're all having a fabulous start to the year :) So I have quite a few things to say today...
To start off I did a proper evaluation of my wardrobe, threw out stuff that I really should not be wearing - things that were way past their best by date; the best move to make sure I get some decent replacements :) From jeans, to dresses, to well the more discreet items in our wardrobes :p. Anywho, what I came to realise was.....I have far too may "patterned" items of clothing and I tend to wear only my basics. The rest of the other stuff is really quite hard to wear, I would look like a hot kaleidoscope mess. Now; there is a right way to wear patterns:
So this year, well at least for the first bit of it, I am going back to basics. Getting some key pieces I can actually mix and match, stuff that I can wear for days on end! Thrift shopping has become my thing and unfortunately the thrill of finding things at such a good deal means I end up with some pieces I never end up wearing :-/. So this year, I think I need to add the following pieces to my wardrobe:
I have also lined up quite a few goals in work, dance, experience and personal development.
Work - In the next months I want to get a hold of things in the new department I work in now. I will improve my report writing skills, proposal writing skills and have more client engagement. I will also lock down how to roll out the project I have been working on for a while now and work to roll out another of its kind (which will hopefully be an easier task given experience thus far).
Dance - Engage in more dance. Work on two dance projects, get my intermediate ballet exam passed and passed well; apply for my teaching course and get my teaching hours.
Experience - Save money to travel with the bf beyond borders! Last year we had the best trip to Mombasa ever; that was probably the most rewarding trip ever! Paid for our flights and decent hotel accommodation, got to eat out at some great restaurants, tour old town and the market and go jet skiing!!
Personal development - In order to make the experience happen, I have set out a budget to work with for the next 6 months after which I will review it. I will be saving up for future plans and for an investment I am making to reel in more mulla.
What are your plans for 2013?
